Wireless Broadband: Sentech to revive broadband
plans
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 12 October 2010
Word is out
that state-owned broadcast signal distributor, Sentech; wants to give the building of a nationwide
Wireless Broadband network another go. This is
after their previous plans to build such a network massively failed and cost the taxpayer no less than
R500m.
National
WiMAX network costing R2bn…
Quraysh
Patel, Chairman of Sentech, has made it clear in an interview with TechCentral that they’re planning to revive their
broadband network plans, despite the massive MyWireless project failure. In fact, they’re planning to
build a national WiMAX network which is expected to cost about R2bn and
promised not to make the same mistakes as with
MyWireless.
