Will Neotel learn the lesson in
time?
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 5 April
2009
This is the question one can ask after it has
become known that Neotel has launched its 1GB NeoConnect Prime service. One would have expected them to hold
back a bit considering the serious issues they are currently face relating to network coverage,
etc.
Network and connectivity
issues…
It is not a bad thing as such to launch a new
broadband service, but when you know that you are struggling to get the upper hand of network and
connectivity issues, you don’t just launch additional broadband services. This is especially true when you
know you are sitting with very limited network coverage, and that by constantly adding new users to the
network, you are risking the quality of the broadband service you offer. In fact, you risk losing your
current users and many potential users. People talk, and when they receive bad service, you bet their friends
and family will hear about it and will take it into account when they consider subscribing to your services.
Do not be surprised if your support base runs dry because you are more interested in making a quick buck than
ensuring quality of service.
