What is Wireless Broadband? Wireless Broadband, is according to Wikipedia, '...a fairly new technology that provides high-speed wireless internet and data network access over a wide area' (Wikipedia). In layman's terms, Wireless Broadband enables one to surf the net at high speeds without the need for ADSL Broadband, which is a wired Internet service.

In other words, you don't need an ADSL line to surf the net when Wireless Broadband is available in your area since it makes Wireless Internet Access possible.

To simplify matters, ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) distinguishes between the various Wireless Internet Access solutions available by breaking it up in two categories:

• Wireless Broadband - Wireless Internet Access Solution fixed location. 

• Mobile Broadband - Wireless Internet Access Solution when one is on the go (mobile). 

Wireless Broadband provides a Wireless Internet Access solution which enables one to access the Internet from a fixed location while Mobile Broadband provides a Wireless Internet Access solution that enables one to access the Internet while one is on the go (mobile).

Getting Wireless Broadband is a great way of adding quality to your life especially if you can't get ADSL Broadband due to geographic limitations. Like most things in life it comes with both advantages and disadvantages. I should add however that the disadvantages are quickly becoming a thing of the past as Wireless Broadband Providers expand their networks. Wireless Broadband services and products are for one becoming more and more innovative by the day.
