Substantial price cuts…
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is
looking forward to the price cuts that will stem from the meeting Vodacom Senior Executives will hold this week,
in which Vodacom’s broadband tariff plans will be discussed. It will be interesting to see whether MTN will this
year be the first mobile broadband provider to announce substantial broadband price cuts or if Vodacom will
surprise us and take the lead.
A tip to the Average Joes: Do not tie yourself
in long-term contracts (12, 36 and 48 months) at this stage. It is expected that the cost of bandwidth is
going to come down even more later this year, and then you don’t want to pay more for bandwidth by being
stuck in a long-term contract. In addition, the current economic turmoil can cost you your job and then you
don’t want to be stuck in any contract, especially a long-term contract. The reality is that it’s easy to
lose one’s job in these crazy times.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) welcomes Vodacom’s move to provide HSUPA at no
additional cost to all their Mobile Broadband subscribers.
