Virgin Mobile is failing in SA
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 16 August
2009
One can’t
help to think that Virgin Mobile is failing in South Africa. This comes after news that Virgin Mobile has cut
its targeted market share from 10% (5 million subscribers) in 3 years to less than 1% (1/2 million
subscribers) in 2 years.
The wrong
partner…
ADSL South
Africa (Broadband South Africa) is of the opinion that Virgin Mobile SA’s failure is among other reasons the
fact that they have chosen to partner with Cell C.
Cell C, joint owners of Virgin Mobile
SA, has started out great but has quickly shown that they are not interested in providing decent customer service.
It is pretty much the same story as with Neotel, which has proven in a very short time that many of us, including
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), have made a HUGE mistake to place any hope of a better telecoms regime
on them. Both companies have shown that they are more interested in the smell of money than providing a decent
service. In fact, you can deem yourself very lucky if you are among the happy Cell C and Neotel customers. It’s
clear that Cell C’s dodgy customer service has rubbed off on Virgin Mobile SA in some form or
another.
