Telkom Outsourced

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 21 September 2008

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) proposes that Telkom changes its name to Telkom Outsourced because it’s clear that the fat cats at Telkom is hell bound on protecting their interests at a great cost, not only to Telkom’s current workers, but also to the rest of South Africa.

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) has reported in early August this year of Telkom’s decision to outsource between 80% and 90% of its operations despite the fact that the outsourcing of cable security has already ended in a farce (‘Sell it off and tear it apart,’ ADSL South Africa, 3 August 2008). It is clear that something is not kosher at Telkom and that similarities can be drawn from the actions of South Africa’s outgoing administration and Telkom’s current management. It can be expected that many who are known and staunt supporters of Mbeki will do their outmost best in trying to secure their futures before it’s too late to do so. The fat cats at Telkom and in Goverment are products of Mbeki’s administration and one can expect them to put up a fight in the days and months to come.
