Have the relevant security companies responded to the allegations?

Yes, as far as we know all the mentioned security companies have responded except Sidas Security Guards.

Radio Surveillance Security Services (RSSS)

According to RSSS director Selvan Narainsamy: "We have no knowledge of this [the report's claims], as all our invoices are accounted for" (Mail & Guardian, Lloyd Gedye, 21 May 2010). ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) would like to point out to Narainsamy that it’s not a question of RSSS not able to come up with invoices, but rather a question of invoicing without the necessary service/product delivery to back it up.

Royal Security

Threatened the Mail & Guardian with legal action and questioned the authenticity of the relevant Telkom internal report.

Enlightened Security

The company claims that the reason for the 125% in payment from Telkom is because the “…service it offered Telkom had changed significantly” (Mail & Guardian, Lloyd Gedye, 21 May 2010).

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) really deplores the alleged fraud and corruption in the network protection industry, especially since this is the second time around that Radio Surveillance Security Services (RSSS) and Royal Security are implicated. These guys are suppose to set a good example when it comes to combatting cable theft.
