• International bandwidth only:Telkom’s ‘generous offer’ only applies to international bandwidth. ADSL subscribers would like to see more local bandwidth coming their way, especially since many ISPs have made it abundantly clear that international bandwidth doesn’t make out a great part of the costs they need to cover. So while we are busy increasing the amount of bandwidth to our ADSL subscribers through trickery and deceit, we can just as well throw in ‘extra’ local bandwidth for ‘free’ or at a ‘40% price drop.’  

Let’s rather stop the bus there. The fact of the matter is that Telkom is taking the piss ONCE AGAIN and nobody in power is going to force them to change soon. ICASA for one will rather suck up to Telkom than making sure that savings are passed unto us the Average Joes. Things will only start to improve the day when decent people run the show.

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) suggests that Telkom sticks the ‘extra’ monthly bandwidth where it belongs.
