We believe South African consumers, especially the Average Joes,
are playing a major role in the diminish of Telkom’s dominance in the market. The reason for this is
simple, we have more choice than ever before when it comes to getting an Internet connection and then of course
Telkom’s ADSL Broadband service has not really improved.
Telkom’s management will not even know what is good service when it hits them between the eyes. They know at
best how to ‘rape’ a nation financially in a restrictive market as a monopoly. This makes Telkom nothing more
than a sitting duck or a beast waiting to be slaugthered at this stage of South Africa’s telecoms history. If
you can’t get it right in terms of service, you will never win the hearts and minds of us, the Average Joes (at
least not again).
The Average Joes will be the ones to drive the last nail in
Telkom’s coffin at the end of the day. We will be the ones who will in our thousands drop Telkom’s ADSL
Broadband and other broadband services for better services elsewhere. ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa) is asking all the Average Joes in South Africa to boycott Telkom and their partners. Do not fall for their
empty promises and bind yourself to any long-term contracts at this stage. Let us be the hammer that crush them and
their stinking service for good.
