contract
ADSL
South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 24 June
2007
Spescom
Telecommunications managed to secure a R10m
Neotel contract.
‘Spescom Telecommunications has
secured a three-year contract to supply and service
next-generation synchronous digital hierarchy (NGSDH)
transmission equipment to second national operator, Neotel’
(Spescom grabs R10m Neotel contract, Kimberley Guest, ITWEB, 20
June 2007).
In other words, Spescom will
supply and service NGSDH transmission equipment to Neotel over
the next three years.
Why do Neotel need NGSDH
transmission equipment?
“The NGSDH equipment will connect
to the Infraco core transmission network and to the
metropolitan transmission network. This in turn will connect to
corporate customers” (Spescom grabs R10m Neotel contract,
Kimberley Guest, ITWEB, 20 June 2007).
In other words, Neotel needs
NGSDH equipment in order to supply a large range of
services.
When will Spescom start
to install the NGSDH equipment?
Spescom already
started…
‘Under pressure from Neotel to
fast-track implementation, Spescom has already installed the
first batch of the contract in Cape Town’ (Spescom grabs R10m
Neotel contract, Kimberley Guest, ITWEB, 20 June
2007).
In other words, Spescom
already started because Neotel is pushing for fast
implementation.
