Sexwale wants 100% of Telkom ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 1 June 2008 Tokyo Sexwale’s group of companies, Mvelaphanda Holdings, has submitted an R90bn conditional bid on Friday afternoon for 100% ownership of Telkom.
It is no secret that more and more parties are showing an interest in a part or a full portion of Telkom. Businessman, Barend Hendricks, and the group that backs him want to buy a partial stake in Telkom while UK-based Vodafone is considering buying a portion of Telkom’s stake in Vodacom. The bid from Mvelaphanda, who wants 100% ownership of Telkom, will definitely help to turn up the heat as the relevant players battle it out. |
