Sentech back on
track
ADSL
South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 9 April
2007
Sentech seems to be back on track
after it struggled the last couple of years to boost the number
of MyWireless subscribers.
It seems that Sentech’s strategy
of lower prices, increased coverage and the recent launch of
new products is starting to pay off. According to Marcel Steyn,
MyWireless Manager, ‘…they had a marked increase in customer
enquiries as well as new subscriptions since the launch of
their new products’ (Sentech back on track with broadband
growth, MyADSL, 5 April 2007). Also, “We are delighted with the
interest shown by customers and are looking at additional value
adds to win over new customers” (Sentech back on track with
broadband growth, MyADSL, 5 April 2007).
In other words, Sentech is so
happy about the current state of affairs that we can expect to
see even more value for money coming our way.
Is Sentech not concerned
about the increase in subscriber numbers, which may cause
problems on their network?
No.
‘…while Sentech does not envisage
a drastic increase in usage on their network in the short term,
Steyn said that bandwidth usage is monitored and reported
daily’ (Sentech back on track with broadband growth, MyADSL, 5
April 2007).
In other words, at the moment it
seems that everything is under control.
ADSL South Africa
(Broadband South Africa) is happy that Sentech is reaping
the benefits of a change in
strategy.
