'Sell it off and tear it apart' ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 3 August 2008 Telkom is facing a strike this week after wage negotiations with the Communications Workers Union (CWU) and the SA Communications Union (SACU) ended in stalemate.
It comes as no surprise to ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) that workers of the above-mentioned unions are planning to strike this week. Working for Telkom cannot always be fun especially if your bosses are more interested in enriching themselves than helping others. Telkom’s decision to outsource between 80% and 90% of operations will affect a huge portion of the company’s employees adversely… In times of economic difficulty, like we are experiencing at the moment, the last thing one wants to hear is that one’s job is on the line (or that there is a risk that one can loses one’s job). |
