The case for true Uncapped ADSL
Broadband
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is of the
opinion that when it comes to Uncapped ADSL Broadband, the
tendency of many ADSL Broadband Providers to deploy punitive
measures against high-end users (‘bandwidth hogs’) of such services must be stopped.
The argument that high-end users mostly download illegal torrents
or illegally distribute copyright material is not of relevance, since it’s not the legality of downloads or
anything down those lines that are under scrutiny, but the fact that ADSL Broadband Packages which are 'capped'
are being advertised and sold as ‘uncapped’ which is certainly false and misleading.
In addition to the above, ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa) agrees that ‘bandwidth hogs’ are adversely affecting other users, but in all fairness the blame for
the state of affairs should be placed squarely on the shoulders of ADSL Broadband Providers. The selling of
ADSL Broadband which is capped in the disguise of being ‘uncapped’ should be banned. Period.
