1 000 000 ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 2 March 2008 Touchwood, South Africa will soon reach the 1 000 000 mark in terms of the number of broadband subscribers in South Africa.
It is no secret that Telkom has over the years made the biggest contribution towards reaching the 1 000 000 mark. Telkom currently has more or less 400 000 ADSL subscribers. The phenomenal growth of the Wireless Broadband market in South Africa has however in recent years been instrumental in pushing us towards the 1 000 000 mark. Mobile Broadband Provider, Vodacom, has taken the lead among the wireless or mobile broadband providers with 350 000 subscribers. ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) predicts that Vodacom will surpass Telkom in terms of broadband subscribers in 2008, especially since Vodacom Business has been launched. Vodacom Business is the new ISP (Internet Service Provider) division of Vodacom who plans to launch Vodacom’s own ADSL Broadband offering in April this year. |
