The MyADSL connection…

It will be interesting to see if the Founder of MyADSL, Rudolph Muller, will start to push iBurst to the foreground now that he’s alleged friend, Jannie van Zyl, is heading up the WBS/iBurst Group. Muller has been accused in the past of removing serious criticisms aimed at Vodacom promptly from the MyADSL Forums, while among other things allowing Jannie van Zyl (aka Vodacom3g) to 'unleash deadly fire' aimed at other networks such as Cell C and MTN. Please note that ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) chooses to remain neutral in this instance, but we do believe our visitors have the right to know what’s going on, and make up their own minds.

One poster at the website called Syllogism summed it up as follow: ‘The link between MyADSL and Vodacom is very suspect. Vodacom sponsors ads on the site, but that’s fine. They pay for the conferences, merchandise, social events, t-shirts, caps, prizes. In return, MyADSL gives them top rank amongst the networks through rigged polls. They must be rigged because anyone asking for details gets ignored or banned. The poll methodology is never made public either. If you look at the results you would see some highly suspicious results – all in percentages. At the end, Vodacom gets to quote “Best broadband for your rand,” so you can see the symbiotic relationship at work. A slimy bunch with dirty hands, that’s all I can say!’ (Rudolph Muller on 702, Posted by Skeptik on the Syllogism website).

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) wishes Jannie van Zyl and Ian Halliday all the best in their new positions.
