New hybrid ADSL account
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 3 June
2007
Web Africa now offers a hybrid ADSL account to ADSL users that
enable them to choose between SAIX and Verizon Business when it comes to the supply of bandwidth.
‘The new hybrid ADSL account, offered by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) Web
Africa, enables users to choose between networks from a single account, ensuring maximum speed and reliability for
their Web experience’ (Hybrid ADSL ISP account launched, MyADSL, 1 June 2007).
In other words, ADSL users can now choose a network that best suit their individual
needs.
What are the benefits of a hybrid ADSL account?
A list of benefits:
-
Optimum
performance – According to the
Managing Director of Web Africa, Matthew Tagg, ‘…the account is particularly valuable for heavy
Internet users who need to minimise lag for interactive applications where performance is
critical, such as games, voice over IP (VoIP), online stock trading, etc’ (Hybrid
ADSL ISP account launched, MyADSL, 1 June 2007). Also: “Users will be able to choose between
Verizon or Telkom (SAIX) networks at any given time to ensure that they are getting optimum
performance” and “Its like buying a car from a dealer, and being able to choose diesel or petrol
to run it, depending on if you’re racing or driving to work” (Hybrid ADSL ISP account launched,
MyADSL, 1 June 2007).
In other words, ADSL users will be able to choose a network that best
suit their individual needs. Gamers for instance will have access to the optimum performance that’s
needed to run games smoothly online.
-
No additional
charge – ‘There is no additional charge for
this multi-realm functionality, and it will come as a standard benefit to all of Web Africa’s unshaped
product’ (Hybrid ADSL ISP account launched, MyADSL, 1 June 2007).
In other words, the option to choose between SAIX and Verizon Business
comes at no additional cost.
ADSL South Africa
(Broadband South Africa) welcomes the new hybrid ADSL account Web Africa offers since it will surely benefit many
ADSL users in South Africa, especially the ‘heavy Internet users.’
