Borderless networks…

The call for borderless networks is becoming increasingly strong, because it forms the pinnacle of what’s needed to make an African telecoms revolution possible, that’s for one earmarked by affordable and fast broadband access.

The above is the very reason why one simply cannot understand the stupidity of the Government of the Ivory Coast nor that of the Government of the Congo which has also tighten control over international traffic some time ago. Lucky for us, an increasing number of prominent telecoms professionals in Africa are calling for borderless networks. Among them is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Ernest Ndukwe, who strongly advocates the concept of Fibre Without Borders (FWB).

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) truly hopes that the Government of the Ivory Coast will have a change of heart and scrap the new bandwidth tax sooner rather than later. In addition, we hope that other African governments, including the South African Government, will not make the mistake to follow in the footsteps of the Governments of the Ivory Coast and Congo.
