What about Neotel’s true broadband offering over WiMAX? ‘Neotel said that it is also actively working towards the introduction of its true broadband offering over WiMAX as well as wireline technologies. According to Neotel, these services will enable customers to make more advanced use of the Internet, including on-demand services such as music and video, as well as efficiency enhancing applications for SMMEs’ (Neotel’s WiMAX broadband offering, MyADSL, 5 June 2007). In other words, Neotel is working hard to bring us a high-speed Internet access service. ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) welcomes Neotel’s aim to bring South Africans a ‘true broadband’ Internet access service over WiMAX as well as wireline technologies.
