Will online gamers find Neotel’s planned Broadband services attractive? Yes. According to Neotel: “Customers who wish to make advanced use of the Internet will find Neotel's forthcoming Broadband services optimally suited for online gaming, on-demand content, as well as use of bandwidth intensive applications. An upgrade path from high-speed Internet access to Broadband services will be available to customers at the time of the introduction of the Broadband services” (Neotel plans ‘significant price re-alignments,’ MyBroadband, 18 June 2007). In other words, if you need super fast Internet access and low latency that’s what you will get when Neotel launch their Broadband services. ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) welcomes Neotel’s readiness to compete. It is a sure sign that better days are on the way, at least where broadband pricing and service are of a concern.
