Can you tell us about Neotel’s initial
Internet access offering or Internet product?
Sure.
According to
Neotel: “Our initial offering, the CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
based high-speed Internet product will be ideally suited for standard Internet usage, including general browsing,
e-mail access, as well as content download and access to organisational applications” (Neotel plans ‘significant
price re-alignments,’ MyBroadband, 18 June 2007). Also: “This product is the
obvious upgrade for the many Internet users still having to make do with dial-up; it will enable them to enter the
world of high-speed, always-on Internet that users of other high-speed services enjoy” (Neotel plans ‘significant
price re-alignments,’ MyBroadband, 18 June 2007).
In other words, Neotel’s initial Internet
offering will offer a high-speed service that caters to the average Joe like you and me, and more specifically to
those of us that are still stuck with slow dial-up (not that dial-up was ever fast).
Will Neotel bring any wireless Internet
access offerings to the table?
Yes.
‘Neotel is also planning a ‘true broadband’
WiMax offering which they say promises high speeds and low latency’ (Neotel plans ‘significant price
re-alignments,’ MyBroadband, 18 June 2007).
In other words, Neotel is also planning to bring us fast wireless Internet access.
