Neotel not happy

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 21 October 2007

Ajay Pandey, Neotel’s Managing Director, has voiced Neotel’s unhappiness about proposed legislation pertaining to the landing of submarine telecoms cables in South Africa.

Although the Department of Communications has slightly softened their stance by making it clear that ‘…shareholding by African investors will now count towards ownership requirements,’ Pandey ‘…has slammed a proposed government policy document that will place ownership restrictions on submarine telecommunications cables landing in SA’ (Neotel slams government policy on cables, Duncan McLeod, 18 October 2007).
