Neotel aims to connect more
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 8 June 2008
Neotel aims to connect more consumers over the coming months
by expanding its network. It is also clear that Neotel is planning to offer ‘true’ broadband as can be construed from the company’s
current ad
campaign.
Expanding coverage…
A lack of coverage is currently a major obstacle to thousands of
consumers who are willing and eager to connect to Neotel’s network and make use of their broadband services. There
is hope however, and a lot of it, if one believes the CEO of Neotel, Ajay Pandey, when he made it clear earlier
this week that Neotel is hoping to ‘connect between 50 000 and 60 000 customers over the next 9 months’. Over the
next 9 months, because according to ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), the
expansion of Neotel’s network or the initial growth of the company can be compared to the time it takes a fetus
in the womb to grow into a baby that sees light for the first time. In addition, similar to this process, Neotel
may reach the 50 000 – 60 000 consumer target sooner than the expected 9 months which will be a good thing in
Neotel’s case (assuming they can handle all the traffic).
