We can go on and give you the opinions of all the relevant parties, tell you about the conflicting opinions of the DoC and ICASA, etc.,  but the most important points to remember when it comes to the lowering of mobile interconnect rates are as follow:

• Must happen at a steady pace  

• and must be part of a much broader strategy to lower the cost of telecoms in SA.  

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is in favour of the fact that mobile interconnect rates should come down, but not when it happens through shortsighted Government intervention, which is more aimed at protecting and benefiting Telkom than to lower the cost of telecoms in South Africa to the benefit of all.
