Mobile Broadband: Cell C switches on 21.6 Mbps HSPA+ network
in Gauteng
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 23 November 2010
Mobile
operator Cell C has switched on their 21.6 Mbps HSPA+ network in Gauteng last week. This
means Gautengers staying in places such as Johannesburg and Pretoria can now also enjoy super-fast Mobile Broadband at cost-effective
rates.
The
cheapest Mobile Broadband on offer in South
Africa…
Cell C
currently offers the cheapest Mobile Broadband in South Africa if one considers
their highly attractive launch offers.
As part of
the Cell C “Smartdata Speedstick Promotion” you can get the following for a once-off R1499 (including VAT) or R149
per month for 12 months (works out to R1788 in total if you go for the monthly option): A USB Speed Stick capable
of reaching download speeds of 7.2 Mbps and 5.76 Mbps for uploads, a Cell C SIM card and 2GB of data/bandwidth each
month for a total of 12 months. Alternatively, you can get the following for a once-off R2999 (including VAT) or
R299 per month for 12 months (works out to R3588 in total if you go for the monthly option): A USB Speed Stick
capable of reaching download speeds of 21.6 Mbps and 5.76 Mbps for uploads, a Cell C SIM card and 5GB of
data/bandwidth each month for a total of 12 months. Depending on the once-off option you choose data/bandwidth will
cost you between R49.98 and R62.46 per GB. This while, depending on the monthly option you choose, you can expect
to pay between R59.80 and R74.50 per GB for data/bandwidth. There is even more good news, if you cannot afford
what’s on offer in terms of their “Smartdata Speedstick Promotion,” you can choose one of their other affordable
data/bandwidth bundles/packages.
In other
words, Cell C currently offers Mobile Broadband connectivity for as low as R50
per GB which is even cheaper than ADSL Broadband connectivity if you consider all the
cost.
