Mobile Broadband: 8ta runs 60GB+60GB promotion

Mobile broadband provider 8ta is currently running a promotion where a 60GB+60GB package is available for R1800. This is highly suitable for those who like 8ta’s 10gig promo, but who don’t like to be tied down to a 24-month contract.

The 120GB data/bandwidth will be allocated up-front. This is unlike the case is with Cell C’s Smartdata packages, where prepaid data/bandwidth is only made available at monthly intervals. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on how data/bandwidth hungry you are, because if you use all the data/bandwidth in the first couple of months, you won’t have any left for later use. Furthermore, 8ta splits the data/bandwidth in half, 60GB goes towards “anytime use” and 60GB goes towards usage between midnight and 05:00 in the morning. In addition, the promotion is only available within the 8ta network and SIM cards need to be provisioned to make that possible. Furthermore, like all promotions, the 60GB+60GB promotion will only run for a limited time. However, 8ta has indicated that they will give ample notice prior to the end of the promotion. In addition, it should be noted that modems will be sold separately and that users will be migrated to 8ta’s normal prepaid per second billing rate plan once the promotion ends. Furthermore, although data/bandwidth gets allocated in full upfront, unused data/bandwidth will expire after 12 months.
