ADSL South Africa -
License Fees
This section of ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is
dedicated to the importance of charging Internet Service Providers (ISPs) reasonable or fair license fees in the
building of a consumer friendly telecoms
regime.
A regulator for telecommunications should
always charge Internet Service Providers (ISPs) reasonable or fair license fees. If an ISP is charged a high
license fee relative to its size or to that of others, it doesn't only negatively impact on the relevant
ISP's chances of succeeding in the telecoms sector, but it negatively impacts on consumers as well.
It helps to raise the barriers of entrance which impacts on healthy competition and ultimately impacts on the
cost of telecoms to the consumer, directly and indirectly.
