Late start for SNO

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 11 July 2006

Services roll out at the SNO (Second National Operator) seems to be much slower than expected.

One can come to the above conclusion if formal announcements by the SNO, media reports and rumours are of any value. By the looks of it don’t expect fire works at least until the first quarter of next year. I’m convinced they might have a New Year’s surprise up their sleeves!

The best strategy to follow at present is to wait and see. There’s a lot of media hype currently doing the rounds about the SNO. A lot of this media hype is based on false information. Information that’s pumped into the media outlets just to mislead you. The proof is in the pudding. We will wait for the tasting. The ADSL service offers on the table will have us either slamming or leaving the table on the end of the day.

In regards to the much loved Telkom. We’ve decided not to give them their 2 cents for the week especially after visiting their ‘best broadband’ site. We’re laughing now although the sad fact is that a lot of decent South Africans are paying to sustain this ‘dancing hippo’. At best Telkom is a disaster waiting to happen.
