Is it not better that she’s resigning because she was found to be ‘moonlighting’ in the past?
 
Yes, maybe it’s better that she is on her way out but it’s not helping Icasa to face the music. It’s kind of a catch 22 situation.

‘Mohlala also stirred the ire of several Parliamentarians last year when news broke that she had been moonlighting by continuing her legal practice while holding her councillor position. She said this extra work did not fall within the sphere of ICASA, but promised not to do it again’ (ICASA councillor quits, Vecchiatto, ITWEB, 3 May 2007).
 
In other words, she clearly tried to have her slice of bread buttered on both sides.
 
Did Icasa comment on Mohlala’s resignation?
 
No, Icasa failed to comment.
 
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) welcomes Mohlala’s resignation although it will clearly add to Icasa’s woes.
