Sorry Telkom, but we think it’s a little too late for price cuts now after so many years of abuse in terms of shoddy service delivery and high prices. We hope businesses make the smart choice and drop you like a ‘rotten hide’ as soon as they get the chance. Why support a ‘greedy dinosaur’ when you can get decent service at a decent price (assuming that Neotel will not fail us)? Consumers in South Africa should give all businesses an ultimatum. Those businesses who still prefer Telkom above Neotel when they get the chance to switch, should see a drop in sales and profits and eventually go out of business as consumers strike at the ‘traitors.’

Neotel sees their access to SAT3/SAFE only as a short term solution while they wait on the SEACOM undersea cable to land. It is no secret that the SEACOM undersea cable will present a more sustainable and long term international bandwidth solution from a South African point of view. It will enable Neotel to bring us much cheaper international bandwidth because of the partnership between Neotel and SEACOM.

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is happy that Neotel is now able to provide businesses with an IPLC service that leaves Telkom out of the equation.
