Is iBurst getting
slow?
ADSL
South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 1 July

iBurst has received a lot of praise in recent
times but it’s important to stay objective. It’s time for
constructive
criticism.
iBurst is growing at a phenomenal rate if one
may use their services role out as far as Kimberley in the
Northern Cape as a measure of growth. iBurst really has a lot
to smile about but there are some issues that need to be
resolved in order to keep the smiles on the faces of its users.
For instance, it’s no secret that businesses that make use of
iBurst’s services are complaining about experiencing downtime.
Now let’s be honest not the extended kind of downtime that’s
experienced at some other internet access providers. It can
however turn around and bite them if they aren’t
careful.
The question remains: “Is
iBurst getting slow?” 1Mbps can’t really be called slow in
South African terms. No what the question really is in
reference to is the level of customer service experienced at
iBurst and specifically in regard to their response to email
enquiries. We are talking about real email enquiries here and
not spam or any obscene offer of any kind. It will not be
necessary to go into specifics but we’re sure the customer care
staff at iBurst will know precisely what we are talking about
(or so we hope).
It seems that iBurst has disrespect in
particular for Internet Marketers (IMs) if one can use their
total lack of response to email enquiries as a measure.
Internet Marketing (IM) is a profession that’s growing at a
phenomenal rate worldwide. IMs are helping a lot of businesses,
big and small, to be successful online. DataPro for one clearly
made the choice to give IMs the chance to help market their
services. They are now smiling all the way because of that
decision. Many other internet service providers (ISPs) hate
them for it.
iBurst will have to be careful not to
get ‘hippo syndrome’ and think people will keep up with
it when they do, especially not Internet Marketers. It’s
our honest hope that it’s just a mild case of ‘flu’
caused by a lack of knowledge and
misunderstanding.
