Icasa's rotten apples

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 14 January 2007

One of the proverbial rotten apples has fallen off the tree when Icasa’s CEO, Jackie Manche, quietly resigned on December 22 last year.

While ADSL South Africa is happy that she did the decent thing, unlike Mashile, to resign, we’re unhappy about the fact that the probe into the alleged violation of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) has been dropped. The probe began after the theft of more than a R100 000 from a safe at Icasa was not reported in a timely matter. In other words, she allegedly helped the thieves or thief to get away by not reporting the incident to the police right away.

Why are we only hearing and reading about her resignation now? Is this a cover up?

Of course, they will try to tell you otherwise but you can bet it’s a cover up. Something is definitely not right here. All their dirty secrets will however be revealed in due time…

We’re sure there are a lot more bad apples that need to fall of the tree at Icasa before we shall see the kind of service South Africans deserve. The sooner the tree gets shaken the better because they’re wasting your money all day long without anybody really doing a thing about it.

ADSL South Africa
(Broadband South Africa) hopes Manche will be replaced by someone with integrity and guts although you should not hold your breath.
