ICASA: Big changes coming ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 28 June 2010 ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) cannot help to think that big changes are coming at the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). Government is in the process of amending legislation in order to give ICASA much more bite when it comes to the regulation of the SA telecoms sector.
Good news for the consumer… ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is of the opinion that most Average Joes will welcome news that government wishes to strengthen ICASA’s hand, especially if we can see further cuts in the prices of telecoms products and services in South Africa. Bad news for telecoms operators… On the other hand, we’re certain that most telecoms operators in South Africa are not too happy about the mentioned development, especially given the fact that government wants to create a new tariff advisory council to assist ICASA. |
