iBurst MWEB
Partnership
ADSL
South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 29
October 2006
iBurst and MWEB have joined
forces in a partnership that will result in bringing wireless
broadband solutions to MWEB’s business and home
customers.
Rudi Jansen, MWEB’s CEO, has expressed
much wisdom in the following statement: ““As the Internet
experts and having the variety of broadband options
available, MWEB can give customers completely objective
advice on the best solution for their needs as we won’t
be pushing one kind of broadband at the expense of
another. All
the broadband options have different benefits and are
suited to different applications and usage patterns, so
we will assess these before advising a customer on the
best solution.”
In all fairness to other ISPs it’s
necessary to state that MWEB will not always advise
customers on the best solution in terms of pricing. This
might be seen as the under statement of the year. The
iBurst MWEB partnership will however leave South Africans
who choose MWEB as their preferred ISP with more choices.
It will also give iBurst a boost in terms of new sign ups
that’s necessary to sustain a continuous roll out of
wireless broadband services throughout South
Africa.
We hope that
this partnership will result in lasting benefits to all
ADSL users in South Africa. A reduction in overall
wireless broadband pricing will be seen as the first
example of such a lasting
benefit.
