In other words, it’s clear that iBurst is not
comfortable with only one supplier and that WiMax will enable iBurst to offer quality-of-service on the access
level, which is not currently possible.
McKechnie made it clear ‘…that they have yet to see how good the WiMax technology actually is, but that if
the technology does turn out to deliver on the illustrious promises made by vendors, it will be beneficial for the
company to be able to migrate their customers to this technology from their current iBurst network’ (iBurst plans
to take on Telkom, MyBroadband, 14 September 2007).
In other words, one can sense that iBurst is not feeling to comfortable about their current network and will
migrate customers should WiMax turns out to be the champion technology vendors claim it to be.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa)
welcomes iBurst’s plans to launch new offerings and services. We wish them the best of
luck.
