Great news from Nashua

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 6 March 2007

Nashua Mobile Broadband will offer clients pay-per-usage ADSL within the next 3-4 months when they launch their long awaited ISP division.

What’s pay-per-usage ADSL and what makes it great?

In essence, pay-per-usage ADSL is a service where one only pays for the bandwidth you use. In other words, there’s no risk that you will be losing bandwidth that you already paid for and this is what makes the idea behind the service great.

According to the Managing Director of Nashua Mobile, Mark Taylor, Nashua ‘…have made the implementation of pay-per-usage packages a key element with their ADSL roll out plans’ (Nashua to launch per-per-usage ADSL, do ADSL installations, MyADSL, 27 February 2007). In other words, we can expect to see value for money because it will be stupid to make something like pay-per-usage a key element of your ADSL plans while charging people an arm and a leg. If this happens, the total idea of paying for what you’re getting will fly out of the window, because the noble idea behind the service and the benefits to the customer will be lost.

Do they have any other plans in place worth mentioning?

Yes. Nashua Mobile Broadband has great plans in place that should benefit Nashua customers as well as others.

A list will look something like this:

  • One stop service – This service for one will provide potential subscribers with the necessary advice to choose the best broadband service for them. In other words, they will keep your specific needs in mind when recommending a broadband package.
  • High quality support – High quality support will be possible because ‘… Telkom are in the process of offering separate voice and data bills, which means that Nashua will effectively have 'control' over their clients…’ (Nashua to launch per-per-usage ADSL, do ADSL installations, MyADSL, 27 February 2007). In other words, Nashua will not be dependent on Telkom to provide excellent service.
  • ADSL installations  – Nashua’s technicians will assist with ADSL installations since Telkom is clearly not able to keep up. Nashua currently has ‘20 technicians able to do ADSL installation in the Gauteng region’ (Nashua to launch per-per-usage ADSL, do ADSL installations, MyADSL, 27 February 2007). Assisting Telkom with ADSL installations can only be a good thing, because not only will Nashua’s customers benefit from it, but also others that are on Telkom’s long waiting list for ADSL installations.

ADSL South Africa(Broadband South Africa) welcomes Nashua’s plans because it will clearly benefit Nashua’s customers and others.
