Full access to SAT3/SAFE
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 19 November 2007
Word is out that Neotel (SNO) ‘…has gained full access to the SAT3/SAFE undersea cable system’ (Neotel gains
access to SAT3/SAFE, MyBroadband, 16 November 2007). This must come as good news
for a large audience in and outside the telecoms
industry.
In what can be described as a firm step forward, Neotel’s MD, Ajay
Pandey said at the company’s Enterprise Product launch ‘…that Neotel has already gained access to the SAT3 undersea
cable system and is connected to the landing station’ (Neotel gains access to SAT3/SAFE, MyBroadband, 16 November
2007). It seems that at least one of Neotel’s large clients will welcome a ‘Telkom free’ circuit.
In other words, Neotel is very close from offering ‘…their clients
full international circuits without using Telkom’s network at all’ (Neotel gains access to SAT3/SAFE, MyBroadband,
16 November 2007).
