Goal Technology Solutions (GTS), known for their Broadband over Power Lines technology, has revealed their broadband pricing. Their Goalnet broadband services, which make use of Power Line Communication technologies, come with a free plug-and-play modem.

‘GTS’s GoalNet broadband services, which make use of Power Line Communication technologies, starts at R 189-00 per month for a 512 Kbps service with a 500 MB usage limit. Their 1 GB GoalNet offering is priced at R 299-00 while their 3 GB and 5 GB services come in at R 410-00 and R 500-00 per month respectively. Their top-up rate is R 70-00 per GB’ (GTS reveals their broadband pricing, MyADSL, 8 June 2007).

In other words, their broadband offerings that make use of Power Line Communication technologies start at R189 per month.

Are these broadband packages soft capped?

Yes.

‘All these packages are soft capped and once the limit of the prescribed data is reached, internet connectivity will simply be throttled to a slower dial-up equivalent speed’ (GTS reveals their broadband pricing, MyADSL, 8 June 2007).

In other words, if you reach your limit for the month you won’t be disconnected but will still be able to access the net but at a much lower speed. Alternatively you can top-up at R70 per GB and still enjoy broadband speeds.

Can you give use details on their ADSL packages?

Sure.

‘GTS has also unveiled the prices for their unshaped ADSL package which starts at R 92-00 for a 1 GB account. Their 3 GB account retails for R 259-00 a month and their 5 GB offering costs R 381-00’ (GTS reveals their broadband pricing, MyADSL, 8 June 2007).

In other words, you can get 1 GB of bandwidth for R92, et cetera.

Are these ADSL packages soft capped?

No.

‘All the ADSL packages are hard capped, and according to GOAL they will release their shaped ADSL pricing soon’ (GTS reveals their broadband pricing, MyADSL, 8 June 2007).

In other words, if you subscribe to one of their ADSL packages, reach your monthly limit and fail to top-up, you will be disconnected. You will not be throttled to a slower service once you reach your monthly limit.

What ADSL packages do they offer to high-end ADSL users?

10 GB, 15 GB and 20 GB unshaped ADSL packages.

Are these ADSL packages fairly priced?

Yes.

‘Their 10 GB offering is priced at R 667-00 which equates to R 66-70 per GB, a figure that is below current rates from SAIX and Verizon Business based ISPs’ (GTS reveals their broadband pricing, MyADSL, 8 June 2007).

In other words, when you subscribe to their 10 GB offering you can get pricing that beats both SAIX and Verizon Business based ISPs.

Goal’s 15 GB offering is priced at R952 while their 20 GB offering is priced at R1237. It boils down to R63,47 and R61,85 per GB respectively.

In other words, the bigger the Goal ADSL package you subscribe to the more money you will save per GB.
