Extended Wireless Coverage

Both iBurst and Sentech are planning massive expansions of their coverage areas.

iBurst plans to have 90% of South Africa covered in the next 5 years. Extended coverage will help to add more subscribers to their more or less 23 000 subscribers.

Sentech don’t have a time limit or date on the table but plans to extent their coverage to 80% of South Africa. This government owned entity is currently waiting on funding to execute its plans.

I know a lot of farmers for one that will welcome news of extended coverage areas since Telkom’s lines are more down than up in many rural areas. The best of all is that fixed line costs are not coming down when the lines are down.
