As previously reported here at ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), ‘...the aim of the JBNP is to provide affordable broadband Internet connectivity that will in turn ensure that socio-economic opportunities get to the surface’ (JBNP is moving ahead, ADSL South Africa, 7 October 2007).

Improved service delivery...

The JBNP should help to improve service delivery by lowering the cost of communications in Joburg. It is no secret that improved service delivery is a very important aspect in socio-economic upliftment. Any government who fails to deliver basic services effectively is doomed to failure because people will at some stage or another start to move into action.

How many people are expected to benefit from the JBNP?

An estimated 3 000 000 plus Joburg residents are expected to benefit from the JBNP.
