End in sight for 'Poison Ivy'?
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 25 December 2007
Is the end in sight for Communications Minister Ivy
Matsepe-Casaburri alias ‘Poison Ivy’? This is a question one can ask after Matsepe-Casaburri was not included in
the recent ANC national executive committee (NEC) list.
‘Matsepe-Casaburri was not included in the recent ANC national
executive committee (NEC) list where she previously occupied a place as an additional member. Matsepe Casaburri was
nominated as an additional member of the NEC for the round of voting that took place at the Polokwane conference
this week, but did not receive enough votes to make the final list’ (Matsepe-Casaburri out, Shope-Mafole in,
MyBroadband, 21 December 2007).
In other words, while ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is not
really fond of politics it is clear that at least some sanity is starting to surface and that
Matsepe-Casaburri’s exclusion is a good indication that ‘…her tenure as Communications Minister will not extend
past her current term’ (Matsepe-Casaburri out, Shope-Mafole in, MyBroadband, 21 December 2007).
