How did Telkom respond to concerns in this regard?
 
Telkom is willing to insert the following disclaimer in the company’s online advertising: “Depending on the activity (movies, music, gaming, education, communication or business) the onus is on the customer to ensure that there is sufficient bandwidth to cater for such activity” (Telkom Do Broadband claims slammed, MyBroadband, 19 September 2007).

 

In other words, we may claim that our Do Broadband offerings are suitable for ‘movies, gaming and music,’ the onus is on you the customer to ensure that we are not deceiving you.

 

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is happy that consumers like Mr Moorad is not afraid to stand up against the likes of Telkom. Huge financial penalties should be introduced to stop Telkom from ever trying this sort of thing again.
