On a comical
note

We're sure many of
you will find something to laugh
about this year. In a good way of
course…
While it is true that we’re individuals
to a very great extent it’s also true that we’re in many
instances like a bunch of proverbial sheep. I mean just
think of the many souls that take a well-deserved break
by leaving for holiday at the peak of the holiday season.
The time of year when almost everything is up, including
prices, when the roads seem to be busier than at home,
when our beaches are over crowded, et
cetera.
One can imagine a lot of inland folk
heading towards our coastline while the coastal folk are
heading inland to escape the flocking near or in their
homes… it’s actually a massive exchange of money, traffic
and souls among other things if one think in those terms.
This is on the one hand while on the other hand a lot of
folk stay home because of various
reasons…
‘Hulle ry met Jan Tuisbly se karretjie’
like the Afrikaners will say. In reference to those who
prefer or are forced to stay at home while many are
enjoying themselves elsewhere… or like some ‘Jan
Spoilsport’ will say: “Creating job opportunities for the
many ‘holiday furniture movers’ out
there!”
Now the idea here is not to shoot
anyone in the foot but to focus on the comical aspect of
something we have noticed
recently…
Have you noticed the number of people not pitching
up for work on time in the new year? Well, not in
reference to the daily hold ups because of a taxi or some
idiot with a sock over the head but in reference to
people pitching up more than a day late… some seven and
some even more than a week late, running into months in
certain cases…
Now one can speculate about the
true reasons behind this phenomenon if I may but things
really get interesting when excuses like ‘I forgot about
work’ pitch up long before the ‘holiday maker’ himself or
herself pitches up…
Well, at least they are truly enjoying
their holidays or ‘extended leave’ without
hypocrisy.
Just imagine the reasons some
Telkom techies will have
for not pitching up on time…
ADSL South Africa asks everyone
involved in the telecoms sector to make this year truly a
year in which everyone can really have a good laugh,
especially the ADSL users in South Africa. A year in
which we will be able to really save on ADSL services and
be able for one to take better longer holidays and have
more legitimate reasons for doing
so…
ADSL South Africa(Broadband South
Africa) always welcomes a bit
of humour now and then otherwise we would all just be soulless
zombies, right?
