A second chance…

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) has not changed into a Cell C supporter, but we feel they deserve a second chance despite past and present mistakes.

They’ve embarked on a radical new strategy since former CEO Jeffrey Hedberg resigned in March last year and Reichelt took over as CEO. This is especially true if one considers:

  • the fact that Cell C is in the process of building an advanced 3G network that will enable the company to offer third-generation (3G) services at speeds of up to 21 Mbps,
  • has unveiled new branding and kick started a new marketing campaign despite criticism about the copyright symbol (©) being used as part of their trademark (CELL©) and the fact that their “Tell Trevor” campaign is a media or publicity stunt at best,
  • Cell C is not for sale, especially not to Telkom,
  • et cetera.

In other words, the winds of positive change are blowing at Cell C, and while they still have a long way to go to win back the hearts and minds of us Average Joes, we feel that they deserve a second chance.

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) welcomes the push for positive change at Cell C and wishes Reichelt and his team all the best.
