Why are you so pessimistic?
‘Positively realistic’.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is ‘positively
realistic’ but definitely not pessimistic. History has proven that countries with mountains of debt, where
interest is charged on loans, have no way of getting out of that debt even when the most brilliant of leaders
take the lead. The whole ‘interest on loans’ system is fallible and only excites feeble minds. Not only does
it creates inflation but also steals away the livelihood of people and leaves the door wide open to usury. It
always brings about wars that level the playing field so that the same old system can once again be used to
destroy the people who are at the receiving end (the ones borrowing the money).
In addition, we simply can’t see how a telecoms player of Cell
C’s stature is going to have any lasting impact in the telecoms arena in South
Africa.
Virgin, the 50/50 partnership between Cell C and Richard
Branson’s Virgin Mobile, is for example simply not delivering the goods as expected. Virgin is struggling to
gain market share considering that they have less than 1% of the SA mobile market.
In other words, ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa)
remains highly skeptical of Cell C’s chances of survival, despite the fact that someone like Reichelt is at
the helm.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is happy that Hedberg
left Cell C, and although we are skeptical about Reichelt’s chances of straightening things out at Cell, we
wish both him and Hedberg the very best.
