Regulatory hurdles…

It is clear that Telkom has a bit of trouble selling their stake in Telkom Media. A deal with a local consortium, backed by Chinese money, was suppose to be finalised by December last year but it didn’t go down as planned because of regulatory hurdles. Telkom is however hoping to finalise a deal soon. We can expect an announcement before the end of the month.

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) can understand that Telkom Media wants to retain staff, but paying bonuses to people that have nothing to do is a bit far fetched, especially considering that we, the Average Joes, will have to foot the final bill when Telkom Media finally gets off the ground.
