BizNet Xtreme
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 20 January 2007
This is the name of the fast wireless connectivity product Sentech (TNO) plans to launch before the end of the year. Sentech also plans to launch new voice
services.
Sentech is clearly hoping for a fresh start if
one takes a peep at their latest plans.
According to Georg Wenhold, BizNet Product Manager at Sentech they ‘…plan to launch BizNet Xtreme this year, and
have a BizNet Xcite product offering towards the end of the year…’ (New broadband and voice services from Sentech
later this year, MyADSL, 19 January 2007). Also, “In addition to BizNet Xtreme, VOIP services are a high priority on BizNet Xpress and we hope to be in a position to offer this
service towards the 3rd quarter of 2007…” (New broadband and voice services from Sentech later this year, MyADSL,
19 January 2007).
This might just be what Sentech needs to make a
solid come back. While Sentech is in many aspects ‘dressed to kill,’ the lack of promised government funding
might just shatter their dreams of making a real impact in the local telecoms market. They got to extend their
coverage and for that a lot of funding is needed.
Is government really willing to stand fast on its promises to
Sentech?
Well, if government’s breaking of promises in other regards can be used as a measure,
Sentech will need a lot of old-fashioned luck to be able to win back the loyalty and support of consumers and
broadband users out there.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa) welcomes Sentech’s plans and wishes them only the best of luck
since it will be to broadband users’ benefit to see them make a solid come back.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) wants to propose a toast to all the
Telkom techies that’s actually doing everything humanly possible to go the extra mile! Know that our fight
for better telecoms in this country is not aimed at you. Help us to help you. Spill the beans. We won’t stab
you in the back.
