Biznet range

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 19 April 2007

Sentech’s Biznet range is starting to make dents in the armour of Telkom’s Diginet offering. It seems that Sentech’s luck is turning after all the bad publicity they received the last few years.

BizNet Product Developer and Manager at Sentech, George Wenhold said: “We are very excited about the interest shown in the market and have begun to make real inroads into achieving our sales objectives. We will be introducing a number of partners over the next few months that will be using and providing the service as an alternative to the current fixed line options available” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, there’s no shortage of interest in Sentech’s Biznet range.

Why all the interest in Sentech’s Biznet range?

Reliability and quick installation times.

Wenhold said: “The need in the business environment for a true alternative to the current Telkom offerings like Diginet has been steadily growing and has reached a boiling point, as in most cases companies who have ordered the service have to wait sometimes up to a couple of months before the service is installed. It is with this in mind that Sentech has decided to make Quick Installations an absolute requirement for its BizNet Xpress product offering” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, through its Biznet Xpress product Sentech offers what the market is looking for: Reliability and quick installation times.

What are the average installation times for this service currently?

16 days or plus minus 2 weeks.

“Due to the large volume of enquiries received we have not achieved our objective during the first few months after the launch of the service. A lot of effort has been put into rectifying this over the past few months and we are beginning to reap the benefits by being able to regularly complete an installation from order, within 16 days” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, Sentech admitted that installation times were initially not very low because of the high volume of enquiries received, but managed to bring average installation times down to plus minus 16 days.

Will the average installation times come down further?

Yes.

“Webhold is confident that with a few additional changes that will be introduced into their installation process the average installation times will come down even more” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, Sentech wants to see even lower installation times by making additional changes to the installation process.

What’s Sentech’s take on the reliability of their service?

According to Wenhold: “Reliability is key to the success of any product, but even more so for us as a new entrant into this market, as companies, especially the large ones decide mainly based on the reliability of the service as opposed to the price only” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, Sentech clearly grasps the importance of a service that’s reliable especially when you’re still ‘waiting for the paint to dry’.

Wenhold also said: “We are currently exceeding our service availability expectation and the service has been proven to be extremely reliable. This having been said though, we are not resting on our laurels and are continuously improving our support processes to ensure a greater level of customer satisfaction” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, while the reliability of Sentech’s service is extremely good at present where availability is of a concern, they’re continuously working to see even better results.

Have any large corporate players signed up yet?

Yes.

According to Wenhold: “We have signed up 3 of the major financial institutions in South Africa, and have installed the service at medical laboratories, Advertising agencies, the entertainment industry, as well as service providers” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, the fact that large corporate players are starting to sign up is a sure sign that Sentech is gaining market share.

What’s key to Sentech’s recent successes?

Great customer service backed up by fantastic technology, et cetera.

Wenhold concluded: “The main focus to being able to compete effectively is customer centric service delivery. We believe the technology is fantastic, the coverage and capacity is currently adequate, yet needs to be improved if the product is to become a true alternative in all areas” (Sentech’s Biznet range gaining momentum, MyADSL, 18 April 2007).

In other words, Sentech is catching on fast: All else is in place, so keep it simple by giving customers what they want.

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is happy to see that Sentech’s turnaround strategy is starting to pay off.
