Better ADSL service delivery

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 26 November 2007

Broadband Service Assurance Solution (BSAS) is the grand name given to Telkom’s latest attempt to fast track ADSL Broadband service delivery. Phase 1 of BSAS will be launched on the 1st of January 2008.

This must come as good news to ADSL Broadband Providers and ADSL users because ‘…the solution will enable wholesale customers to perform primary support for their customers with secondary assistance from Telkom’ (Telkom to beef up ADSL ISP support, MyBroadband, 22 November 2007).

According to the Group Executive for Wholesale Sales and Marketing Operations at Telkom, Aphonzo Samuels: “The BSAS will provide users with remote automated self-help and self-diagnostic tools” (Telkom to beef up ADSL ISP support, MyBroadband, 22 November 2007).

He added: “ISPs will be able to provide first line maintenance and support capabilities on ADSL access services, thereby improving customer service” (Telkom to beef up ADSL ISP support, MyBroadband, 22 November 2007).

In other words, it’s clear that chances are very good that BSAS will help to improve customer service.
