Another milestone for Neotel
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 6 March
2007
Neotel has partnered
with several technology companies, which will help South Africa’s Second National Operator (SNO) in the building of
its networks.
“These relationships are yet another significant milestone in the life
of Neotel. The partnerships are a clear indication that Neotel is on track to deliver its promised services”
(Neotel Announces Partnerships, MyADSL, 1 March 2007). This is according to Managing Director of Neotel, Ajay
Pandey. Pandey added: “The various partners are recognized as technology leaders in their respective areas and I
believe that they are all well placed to bring their vast global expertise to effectively support Neotel in the
achievement of its growth objectives. I am proud to say that we are will confidently offer the South African market
high quality, cost effective communications solutions through these agreements” (Neotel Announces Partnerships,
MyADSL, 1 March 2007).
Which companies has Neotel partnered
with?
Neotel has partnered with companies such as Siemens
Telecommunications, Cisco, Huawei Soft,
Juniper Networks and others. While we shall not go into the technical details here, it’s
sufficient to say that Neotel is planning to employ only the best and latest of technologies.
Will local communities benefit from these
partnerships?
Yes because it’s clear that Neotel ‘is committed to the support and
development of the local communities in which it operates, and is proud to announce that these supplier
partnerships are more than just a commercial arrangement’ (Neotel Announces Partnerships, MyADSL, 1 March 2007). In
other words, Neotel is keen to see local communities benefit from these partnerships.
How will local communities benefit from these
partnerships?
Local BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) and SMME groups will be engaged
in operational activities, which means that local communities will directly and indirectly reap economic
benefits.
ADSL South Africa(Broadband South Africa)
welcomes Neotel’s continuous efforts to bring South Africans only the best money and technology can
bring.
